40-50 people attend St Peter’s weekly Top-up Shop, where they can buy groceries at subsidized prices. Sue, a lay leader, was hesitant about introducing Soulspace, but when she did in autumn 2025 she found that people loved it.
Lunch starts at 12.30, Soulspace follows for 25 minutes at 1.00, and at 2.30 the shop opens. 8-10 people attend Soulspace, mostly churchgoers but some not. They have used all the themes, with Sue commenting, ‘I have found the five different printed sessions easy to follow. We are using a different one each week.’
She is now trying to encourage the regulars to help with lighting the candle, the Bible reading, and prayers.
