What is Soulspace?

Soulspace is a gentle, welcoming space to just ‘be’, to explore spirituality for those who wish, and to hold deeper conversations about things that matter if you want. It’s designed especially for people who don’t usually go to church.

What happens at Soulspace?

Each gathering includes simple moments of reflection, a Bible story or reading [or reflection on a picture or poem], an opportunity for discussion if you want, and a chance for those who wish to pray to God as they understand God. Everything is optional, and you can join in as much or as little as you like.

Do I need to know anything about the Bible?

Not at all. Soulspace is for anyone who is curious, searching, just wanting a peaceful moment, or wishing to connect with others about the important things of life.

Is there any pressure to believe or join the church?

No. We simply offer a safe place to explore. You can use the time however you wish.

Is Soulspace like a church service?

It’s quieter and more informal than a typical service. In a church service, people gather specifically to worship Jesus Christ. In Soulspace, people come from different backgrounds, with different faiths or with no faith. All are equally welcome.

Soulspace can be a bridge into worshipping the Christian God if the group wants, but there is no obligation.

Can I just come once to try it out?

Absolutely. You’re welcome to come once, occasionally, or regularly – whatever suits you.

Will I be asked to speak or pray out loud?

No. You’re free to take part silently if you prefer. No one will put you on the spot.

Is it suitable for children or young people?

Yes. People of any age are welcome. We use everyday language, which can easily be adapted to children.

How long does it last?

A typical Soulspace session lasts about [10-15] minutes, but it can be longer if that’s what the group wishes.

Do I need to bring anything?

No. Just come as you are.

Who leads Soulspace?

It’s led by people from the church, including [name(s)]. They gently guide the time together, and are there to support, not to pressure.

What’s the aim of Soulspace?

The aim is simple: to offer space for people

    • to reflect on what is happening in their lives
    • to find refreshment amid the stress of life
    • to explore their spiritual side if they wish
    • to be still or to engage in slightly deeper conversation, as they prefer
    • to take steps toward Christian worship and community, if they choose

Can I talk to someone afterwards if I have questions?

Yes. There’s always someone available for a friendly chat if you want one.
